"Necker Knob" History
These brightly colored acrylic brodie knobs easily mount to your wheel and are sure to give your vehicle some personal style that will bring you back to the good ol’ days.
Before the days of power steering, these knobs were needed in order to turn the steering wheel with greater ease. In addition to being a functional piece of your steering wheel, they were also a way to customize your car, and give it a unique look.
Beginning in the 1950’s, these knobs also helped the hot rodders to spin out when they turned the wheel in one direction quickly, while accelerating.
The name "necker knob" came about when the driver would use the knob to steer with one hand and still have one arm free to put around his girl, since bench seats allowed that to happen back then.
Go ahead - Relive the glory days with that gorgeous girl by your side with the help of Gennie Shifter’s brodie knobs!
